Understand a bit more about the courses on offer...

Managing your practice & increasing profits - Caroline Pond

We all have our accountants who prepare our annual accounts but that doesn’t mean we should be doing some basic sums on an on-going basis, in order to keep the dispensary finances on track.

But if we don’t know how we generate income and we don’t prepare some sort of cash flow statement as we go along how can we say we are managing the dispensary business?

In this session we will focus on understanding how dispensary income is generated and more importantly identifying where the main losses occur.

You will be given guidance on how to undertake meaningful internal audit in order to collect the data you really require to create useful monthly management accounts.

The session is aimed at the  practice management and partnership team.

Understanding PAs & Dealing with VAT - Jim Mandeville & Caroline Pond

This course is designed to allow those involved in practice financial management along with those in dispensary management to dig deeper into the subject of Value Added Tax and how it impacts practice finances.

It will include an informative session on how to review the practice VAT accounting requirements and the strategies for maximising VAT recovery, as well as spending time looking at the more practical considerations to understanding and handling PAs (personally administered items), understanding drug statements  and creating simple dispensary management accounts to  manage profitability.

This session is suited to a broad spectrum of Practice team members including those with an interest in finances as well as dispensary managers and partners.
